All our work ought to be done with Christ in mind. It's in the Bible, Ephesians 6:6-7, TLB. "Don't work hard only when your master is watching and then shirk when he isn't looking; work hard and with gladness all the time, as though working for Christ, doing the will of God with all your hearts."
Work knowing that God will evaluate your efforts. It's in the Bible, II Timothy 2:15, TLB. "Work hard so God can say to you, 'Well done. Be a good workman, one who does not need to be ashamed when God examines your work. Know what His Word says and means."
Does attitude matter? It's in the Bible, Colossians 3:23, TLB. "Work hard and cheerfully at all you do, just as though you were working for the Lord and not merely for your masters." Ecclesiastes 9:10, NIV says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom."
A man who fails to work to provide for his family denies the faith. It's in the Bible, I Timothy 5:8, TLB. "If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."
One can learn lessons from nature on how to work. It's in the Bible, Proverbs 6:6-11, NIV. "Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man."
